You're not untrained. You're self-trained. 😁 Check out AMS Piano Tools number 129 Jack Holding Tool. You put it between the jack toe and the letoff button and it holds the jack away from the hammer flange screw. You don't need to take the key out to get at the screw but you do need to release the bridle. It also helps to have the correct screwdriver (AMS number 34) because it has a very skinny shaft to get past the jack.

I don't know anything about the other piano, but Ivers and Pond was a top manufacturer back when that piano was built, rivalling even Steinway in build quality. Nice looking instruments.

Thanks for these tips. For me it's more rock'n'roll than blues piano with the 4 timing. However, if you use a 12/8 in the left hand it becomes more blues piano and for me easier to play!

Just in case this helps someone, I used a pair of kitchen rubber gloves to pull off all the knobs and that worked very well in place of the wrench👍

What's interesting is that my piano is Jewett Boston😂

there are times when tightening the screw doesn't take care of the problem. This is because the glued joints of the hammer head and shank have lost their ability to hold, meaning there is still some movement going on in the joint where the shank is slamming against the inside of the hole in the hammer. If you find that you can move the hammer while holding the hammer butt in place, then you need to reapply glue to the hammer and or shank. The shank in the hammer butt could also come loose and cause the clicking sound.

I found a fix for my own personal issue. The yeti would not pick up any form of audio whenever I would power on my PC. I would need to unplug the yeti and plug it back in for it to begin working normally. I found out that changing any of the microphone settings within Windows 10 (mic volume, renaming the device) would cause this to happen. I have since uninstalled the drivers, unplugged, restarted and plugged back in and have not changed anything and I have not had the issue since. Hope this helps someone out there!

I had the background noise muted for a while but all of a sudden it no longer works. When I take mic recording settings to zero, it takes the audacity record to zero as well...HELP!!!!!

i have a problem with this mic. I plugged it into one of the usb ports in the back of my pc but it stopped working a day ago. it started with the gain gradually lowering but now there's literally no input gain at all. ik its the mic cus i plugged it into another pc and tried it, i also did it on a mac. The light seems to be working and i can hear through the headphone jack with this mic but i just can't get the mic to register any input audio
